Matthew Matt James was born in North Carolina on December 5 1991. James is the son of Manny and Patty James and is of mixed race. His father is Nigerian while his mother is caucasian American. In 2010 he graduated of Sanderson High School and furthered into Wake Forest University where he completed a bachelor's in Economics in 2015. James became famous when he became a reality television participant on The Bachelorette. In 2020 he got selected to be the new bachelor in season 25, becoming his only African American male lead which then aired on the show in 2021. James was the ideal candidate for the role as he is handsome well-rounded tall with a sense comedy. The show ended when he selected Rachael Krkconnell to start a relationship with the actress. He was paired with the famous choreographer Arnold in 2021 and competed on the 30th season of Dancing with the Stars. James as well as Arnold finished 12th.
