Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig, September 21 in 1983. She is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. After her parents' divorce the actress left Worthington in Ohio and moved with her family in Los Angeles. Her first role came to her, as Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001, despite having a difficult time with finances. Her performance as Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder, in the television film Murder in Greenwich in 2002, earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award. In 2004 Grace was cast as Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost on which she was a main cast member for the first two seasons, and was awarded an Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the ensemble cast. Grace was a co-star together with Tom Welling on The Fog in 2005, was looking to go into the world of film. She starred as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in 2007 as well as Taken (2008) opposite Liam Neeson. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). In addition, she played Alice on Malice in Wonderland which is an updated adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost, including the finale. In 2013, she appeared in Season 6 of Californication. Being part of the Gyllenhaal Family, she's the younger sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began when she was a teenager, playing small roles in several of the films of her father and starred with her brother in the popular cult film Donnie Darko (2001). The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal's lead roles in Secretary, an erotico-romantic comedy, as well as Sherrybaby (a dramatic) earned her nominations for Golden Globe Award. Her fame grew for her role as Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) as well as a number of successful commercial films that she was a part of the year 2006. For her performance as an unmarried mother, in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
